There are pros and cons to U.S. aid to Ukraine. The most frequently cited negatives are political corruption in Ukraine and the need to keep money here at home to help our own citizens.

Let’s consider these points. First, the staff under Presidents Obama and Biden have been the most corrupt in recent memory, with their meddling in the 2016 and 2022 elections, as well as their free-speech shutdowns and two-tiered justice system. Second, aid to foreign governments is nothing new. During World War II, the U.S. enacted the Lend-Lease program to provide assistance to the United Kingdom and other countries — in our own best interest.

As for the billions of dollars given in aid, the Biden administration has embarked on a seemingly never-ending spending spree of billions of dollars for illegal immigrants, and it has not made federal employees accountable for wasting billions of dollars yearly.

The most important reasons for providing aid and weapons to Ukraine are that Vladimir Putin invaded a country and killed innocent
people. The U.S. has always defended democracy, liberty and freedom. President Biden should have been the world leader to form a coalition to aid and protect Ukraine.
