Report: Another potential buyer tours Commanders facility

Another prospective buyer for the Washington Commanders toured the team’s facility in Ashburn, according to multiple reports.

The visit is at least the third known tour to take place since Dan Snyder began exploring a sale of the franchise. Of the three, Philadelphia 76ers and New Jersey Devils owner Josh Harris is the only one who has been publicly identified. 

WUSA, which first reported the latest tour, added there have been “at least four” submitted bids to purchase the franchise.

The New York Post reported earlier this month that the Commanders had only two prospective buyers and that efforts to sell the team were not going well. Snyder reportedly has an asking price of $7 billion, but the highest bid for the franchise sat at $6.3 billion during a late December target for offers.

Tours, meanwhile, are a common part of a potential sale. Harris, for instance, toured the Broncos’ facilities in 2022, though lost a bid to Walmart heir Rob Walton — who purchased the team for a record $4.65 billion.
