OPINION:
Patrick Murphy, former Army secretary, told a national television audience America ought to beware that the United States is actually “the underdog” in any conflict with China that might arise militarily.
This is an astonishing turn of geopolitical events. Blame Democrats.
If it weren’t for Democrats and their weak, ineffective, diplomacy-all-the-time, diplomacy-at-all-costs, concessions-to-even-communists-must-be-made manner of politicking, then perhaps America First would still be the order of the day. As it is, every Tom, Dick and Harry — every Xi, Kim and Putin; a little bit of Ali on the side — has been put on notice in recent weeks: Spy balloons, welcome. Mi America, su America.
“What people need to understand in our great country is that we’re the underdog here,” Murphy said on a Fox News interview after the U.S. shot down a third spy object — err, that is, “high-altitude airborne object” — over Canada. That makes the fourth in a few days. What is it? What was it? At this point, it’s anybody’s guess. America now just seems to be shooting down foreign objects in the sky. That’s called military precision, Democrat style.
“4 flying objects have been shot down over North America,” ABC News wrote. “The first incident was a suspected spy balloon from China. … the origins and purpose of the other objects has not been confirmed.”
“Mystery surrounds objects shot down by US military,” BBC News wrote.
Yay, Team Biden.
Way to get those — whatevers.
Dontcha just smell the safety and security this administration provides?
“We’re a third of [China’s] size,” Murphy went on. “And I’m not just talking about geographical and population. Listen, America at our best is the reluctant warrior, but we’re a warrior. And we need to make sure when you have less than 1% of the country that’s serving, and you only have 26% of the country that can even serve, because of the obesity crisis in America and some other things, we need to wake up, understand that we have a competitor out there in China that thinks they’re the preeminent power in the word.”
Yes. China thinks that because they’ve been emboldened to think that.
Democrats — as well as some Republicans, to be honest, but largely Democrats — have sold out America’s interests to a communist regime because they’ve become convinced that China, indeed, is on the upswing; that America is on a downturn; and they are scrambling out of self-interest, fear, greed and unconcern to be part of this New World Order.
The former president, Donald Trump, fought the Chinese powers. He called out the China expansion. He bucked the globalist Great Reset-type agenda that actually sets China as the model of commerce and — get this — capitalism. But the Democratic president before Trump and the Democratic president after Trump, both Barack Obama and Joe Biden, also known as Obama, weakened America’s presence on the world stage by doing things such as talking nuclear treaties with Iran; by pushing climate change as a military battle — more crucial that combatting terrorists; by botching the withdrawal of Afghanistan; by working solidly, steadfastly and oh-so-anti-American-ly with the powers of the global governments, like the World Economic Forum, World Health Organization, United Nations and more, and putting those interests about those of sovereign America. And don’t even get started on the borders.
Mi America, su America.
Where Trump built walls, used border control to, well, control the border, and sent federal agents to make very public arrests of illegals in communities across the country, both Obama and now Biden hung the welcome sign.
“Since President Biden took office, around 5.5 million illegal aliens have crossed our borders — a crisis of epic proportions,” The Federation for American Immigration Reform announced in October 2022. On illegal border crossings, Biden’s been a record-breaker.
No wonder China is sending in the spy balloons.
Mi America, su America.
Yes, Murphy has a point about the fattening population of America’s youth and the inability of military recruiters to find suitably physically fit candidates. But that’s not a real problem. The Marines, for instance, start shape-up programs for interested recruits before they even head to basic training — a sort of basic training before basic training. And the whole idea of basic training for all branches of the military is to prepare newbies for combat both mentally and physically. That is to say: Those who aren’t in shape before basic training will be in shape after basic training.
The bigger problem with recruitment in America is the military, led by feckless Commander-In-Chief Joe Biden, has become a marching ground for experimental vaccines, social justice agendas, and woke policies. No young red-blooded and patriotic American dreams of growing up, joining the military and going off to fight for transgender rights. George Patton is rolling in his grave. So, too, George Washington.
“We don’t want any unnecessary wars,” Murphy also said, on Fox. “We have to always prepare for the worst.”
Yes, we do.
But whenever a Democrat sits in the White House, it seems America grows weaker on the world stage.
It’s one thing for Americans to prepare for the worst and understand the many, many threats and perils from foreign nations, from China to Russia to Iran and North Korea. It’s quite another for Americans to have to prepare for the worst — and realize, the worst is Democratic leadership.
