Tom Brady is retiring.
Again.
The future Hall of Fame quarterback said that he is hanging up his cleats, one year exactly after he previously announced his retirement. Though the 45-year-old ended up playing in 2022, Brady insisted that this time it would be permanent.
“I’m retiring,” Brady said in a 39-second video. “For good.”
Brady retires as one of the greatest — if not the best — players of all time. He won seven Super Bowls, six with the New England Patriots and one with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. But Brady is stepping away after a 2022 that was challenging in both a professional and personal aspect.
The Buccaneers with 8-9 this past season, and though they won their division, they suffered a lopsided defeat to the Dallas Cowboys in the playoffs. Off the field, Brady also divorced his wife Gisele Bündchen.
Truly grateful on this day. Thank you 🙏🏻❤️ pic.twitter.com/j2s2sezvSS
