Republican presidential candidates Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley will participate in live back-to-back town halls hosted by CNN next month.
Both candidates will appear at Grand View University in Des Moines, Iowa, on Jan. 4, just ahead of the Jan. 15 Iowa caucuses.
The network’s Kaitlan Collins will moderate Florida Gov. DeSantis’ town hall at 9 p.m. An hour later, CNN anchor Erin Burnett will play host to former South Carolina Gov. Haley’s event.
The candidates will be asked questions by their respective moderators and by Iowa GOP caucus voters.
On top of those events, CNN will air two GOP debates next month — Jan. 10 at Drake University Iowa and Jan. 21 at New England College in New Hampshire ahead of the Jan. 23 primary.
A new poll by Emerson College found Ms. Haley leading Mr. DeSantis in Iowa by two points. The former U.N. ambassador grabbed 17% of support from Republican caucus voters, while Mr. DeSantis collected 15%. That’s a 10-point jump for Ms. Haley, who had 7% in a poll in September, and a one-point drop for Mr. DeSantis.
Former President Donald Trump leads with 50%, a one-point increase from September, but a 12-point drop from May.
