President Biden does not deserve a second term in office in the eyes of a majority of registered voters in Pennsylvania but he is nonetheless running neck and neck with former President Donald Trump in a hypothetical general election matchup.
Nikki Haley, meanwhile, is the sole Republican presidential contender running ahead of Mr. Biden in a one-on-one matchup.
That is according to a poll from The Muhlenberg College Institute of Public Opinion released Tuesday that found 65% of voters believe Mr. Biden should take a hike, and 57% disapprove of the job he has done as president.
Mr. Biden, however, is locked in a statistical dead heat, 42% to 41%, with Mr. Trump.
But Mr. Biden trails Ms. Haley 38% to 33%, and “narrowly outpaces Florida Governor Ron DeSantis 41% to 39%”
Mr. Biden carried Pennsylvania over Mr. Trump in the 2020 election.
Mr. Trump said the election in Pennsylvania was rigged and refused to accept that the final tally reflected the will of the people.
Mr. Trump won the state by less than a percentage point over Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential race. It marked the first time since 1988 that a Republican won the state in a presidential election.
The survey included 421 registered voters and had a margin of error of 6%.
