Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres kicked off COP28 in United Arab Emirates, land of oil, by talking about a couple of melting glaciers as proof of the need for people to stop driving and flying and eating meat and using gas stoves, and then adding, in reference to the droughts and floods that follow ice melts, “but this is just one symptom of the sickness bringing our climate to its knees” — whatever that means. At this point, does it even matter what the climate alarmists say?

Those who worship the green goddess of environmentalism know they don’t even have to take a stab at talking real science any more.

They can just send in Greta Thunberg to wag her Wendy pigtails and scold, “How dare you” in a hissing stage-directed voice a few — thousand — times and then wind up Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to watch her go “12 years! 12 years!” — and voila, science is born.

“Just days ago, I was on the melting ice of Antarctica,” Guterres said. “Not long before, I was among the melting glaciers of Nepal. These two spots are far in distance, but united in crisis. Polar ice and glaciers are vanishing before our eyes causing havoc the world over, from landslides and floods to rising seas.

“But,” he went on, “this is just one symptom of the sickness bringing our climate to its knees. A sickness only you, global leaders, can cure.”

Government’s the answer to what — weather patterns? And not just any government, but global government; the bigger and more powerful and less accountable to the people, the better.

That nobody really believes the bull that comes out of the mouths of the globalists and leftists about the climate is irrelevant. Note to self: “Al Gore said in 2009 that ‘the North Pole will be ice-free in the summer by 2013 because of man-made global warming’ — mostly true,” even the left-leaning PolitiFact had to acknowledge

Truth is the first casualty of environmentalism.

Really, today’s green agenda, such as presented at the Climate Change Conference taking place in the United Arab Emirates right now, is all about money; all about seizing power; all about wresting control from citizens of the various governments of the world and frightening and shaming and forcing them into compliance with the globalist agenda — about forcing a bowing and worship of a false pagan god of green.

This year’s conference just scored a big win for the communists, of which Guterres is one.

The UAE agreed to contribute $30 billion for a climate fund, dubbed Alterra, with a target increase of investment to $250 billion by 2030. BlackRock and a couple other global asset management firms, TPG and Brookfield, are partnering in this fund. These are the companies that have control over how dollars are spent; these are the firms that make customer choice obsolete. You don’t want to shop at Target because you are offended by the retail giant’s recent displays of LGBTQ gear and clothing for kids? That’s OK. BlackRock, largely unbeknownst to you, will take your pension dollars and invest in LGBTQ-friendly companies anyway. Want to boycott PayPal because the company, in a nod at Black Lives Matters, is committing hundreds of millions of dollars to black-owned businesses, and that strikes you as racist? Go right ahead. Boycott away. Those other companies you invest in are managed by Brookfield, which touts diversity and equity as its middle name.

There’s really no way to avoid the far leftists’ reach in this coming global government tsunami. There’s really no op-out button that truly allows for an opt-out, at least for an individual.

And that’s just how the global elites want it.

“COP28 President Sultan al-Jaber, who also serves as chief executive of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), will chair the board of Algerra,” CNBC wrote.

Anywhere outside the cushy environmentalists’ crowd, filled with hypocrites who fly here, fly there, to tell the rest of the peons to stop flying, and al-Jaber’s CEO status of an oil company might make him a wee bit ineligible to chair a board of a company dedicated to stopping oil production. But this is climate change alarmism. This is the United Nations. This is global government.

This is the realm where science and truth and hypocrisy all roll into one easily moldable ball, to be placed only in the hands of carefully selected elites as a toy of manipulation and exploitation.

“It is not too late to stop the climate crisis,” Guterres wrote on “X” while at the COP28 conference. “We can still prevent planetary crash & burn.”

All we need, he said, was “leadership — cooperation — and political will.”

All they need is ignorant, compliant masses and a little help from their pagan friends in environmentalism to sound some alarms.

“Climate change is at the center of everything,” Bloomberg wrote.

Yes. It’s truly the god of the left.
