After adding a web version last week, Meta’sTwitter Killer” Threads announced this week that a new search function will be added to the app soon.

Currently, people on Threads can search only for usernames on the app. Next up will be specific posts as well.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the change in a post on the platform, saying, “Get excited — search is coming to Threads.”

The company has been testing the feature in Australia and New Zealand. Other countries will join, but starting dates are pending.

After a breakthrough launch this month, Threads has seen a steady decline in active daily users. Most users were disappointed by the lack of features and the overall barebones nature of the site compared with Twitter, now X.

Leadership at Meta seemed to listen to users’ demands and have been adding features, including a browser version of the platform.
