Three-hundred billion dollars per year: That’s the amount that’s laundered in America each year.

Hello human trafficking. Hello drug kings. Hello nation of corruption.

One way to fight this sad and sorry state of affairs is to target the enablers for law enforcement.

“Lawyers, accountants, folks who set up anonymous shell companies … they are the enablers of not only corrupt money, but the proceeds of drug trafficking in the United States,” said Scott Greytak, with Transparency International U.S., a nonprofit dedicated to rooting out corruption in government.

If you want to fight the fentanyl crisis — if you want to put a stop to widespread opioid abuse and death — then going after the enablers of these evil pursuits, that is to say, the money launderers, is a key element for success.

Tune in to learn more of how America is becoming one of the world’s leading destinations for money laundering — and what politicians can do to reverse that sorry trend.
