Stanley Black & Decker has recalled 2.2 million DeWalt, Stanley, and Craftsman brand fiberglass sledgehammers due to the risk of the hammer head loosening and striking the user.
Both the company and the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall Thursday. The recalled hammers range in size from two to 12 pounds, and 14 to 36 inches.
Stanley Black & Decker has received 192 reports of the heads of the fiberglass sledgehammers detaching, with two reported injuries to the heads and faces of customers.
The recalled products were manufactured in Vietnam, and sold at U.S. hardware stores and online from November 2013 to November 2022 for around $18 to $26.
All three brands are written on the handles of the sledgehammers; the DeWalt and Stanley tools are yellow and black, while the Craftsman hammers are red and black.
The model numbers are printed on the head of the DeWalt and Craftsman hammers, while Stanley hammers have their model numbers on a sticker on the handle.

Consumers are urged to stop using the recalled tools and to contact the company for a full refund.
