Stephen A. Smith, ESPN sports analyst, said he’s known for Donald Trump for years, has “thoroughly enjoyed talking to him,” and is hardly the “racist” the Democrats and their allies in the media make him out to be.

And since Smith himself is a Black man, it won’t be long before he becomes the victim of attacks by the left.

There are three things in life that are certain: death, taxes and the intolerance of Democrats to withstand opposing views. Smith has committed the Democratic Party’s equivalent of a religious cardinal sin: He Defended Trump While Black.

It’s the ultimate Trump Derangement Syndrome trigger.

At the Semafor Media Summit, Smith spoke fondly of Trump, whom he said he knew before the 2016 election and remarked, as Breitbart wrote, “I knew Trump before he ran for the presidency. I thoroughly enjoyed talking to him. He was a huge sports fan. He used to throw a lot of events at, you know, at his casinos and stuff like that and I genuinely liked him.”

Cue gasp track.

Smith went on to say that the Trump he saw in the beginning weeks of his 2015 political climb was different from the Trump he knew personally. But, he added, “I will tell you this: I think when people call him racist and stuff like that, I’ve never thought of Trump that way. He’s not against black people; he’s against all things not named Trump.”

That — even though Smith said he would not vote for Trump.

That — even as the media, as we speak, throw down the racism card against Trump.

“The Racial Element of Trump’s Attacks on His Prosecutors,” The Bulwark wrote, in a headline above a story of Trump’s ongoing court battles against Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

And not just Trump — but all Trump supporters.

“Trump Supporters Are Swamping the Manhattan DA With Racist Threats,” Vice wrote.

But here are the facts. Between 2016 and 2020, “Trump made gains with black voters,” Vox wrote.

“US election 2020: Why Trump gained support among minorities,” BBC wrote.

How much support?

“[Trump] gained six percentage points among black men and five percentage points among Hispanic women,” BBC wrote.

Either minorities are stupid — or Trump haters are liars. Smart money’s on the latter.
