Biden’s ‘geriocracy’ reaches constitutional crisis levels

OPINION:

Sparta was a gerontocracy, famously ruled by wise, experienced Greek elders. It worked pretty well.

America, on the other hand, has turned into a geriocracy, ruled instead by the ancient, infirm and increasingly senile.

It’s not going so well.

Here in the Home for the Aged and Insane, the man with the best meds rules.

President Biden recently won enormous praise both inside his administration and outside for surviving 15 minutes of a “60 Minutes” interview.

Yet during that supposedly successful interview in which he appeared to be lucid at times, Mr. Biden declared the coronavirus pandemic over — thereby undermining the entire purpose of his presidency and destroying the foundation of every “accomplishment” he claims from his first two years in office such as his latest student loan smash-and-grab from innocent taxpayers.

Let’s be honest: It’s a pretty low bar for the old wheezing geezer.

In other words, Mr. Biden did not fall out of his wheelchair at the Old Folks Home. But he also didn’t exactly win the shuffleboard tournament. In fact, he bit into the puck and tried answering the shuffleboard cue when the lunch buzzer rang.

His presidency will go down in history as a seriously twisted form of elder abuse.

“Where was his family?” people will ask. Then they will regret asking after typing into the computer, “Where was Hunter Biden?”

Just this week, Mr. Biden’s mind slipped his meds as he called on the dead during a campaign event.

“I want to thank all of you here, including bipartisan elected officials like Representative McGovern, Senator Braun, Senator Booker, Representative Jackie — are you here? Where’s Jackie? — I think she’s going to be here,” he said enthusiastically, as if someone told him that one of his favorite episodes of “Matlock” had just started on the telly in the common room. 

Unfortunately, Congresswoman Jackie Walorski could not be at Mr. Biden’s event because the Indiana Republican died in a car crash last month.

It was just a few weeks ago that Mr. Biden supposedly announced — in a press release issued by the White House — that “Jill and I are shocked and saddened by the death of Congresswoman Jackie Walorski of Indiana along with two members of her staff in a car accident today in Indiana.”

So “shocked and saddened,” apparently, that he promptly forgot all about it. Or never knew about it in the first place.

Or maybe a combination of strong meds, encroaching senility and the fast-approaching precipice of death caused him to actually see Mrs. Walorski just through the misty gates.

And then there is Mr. Biden’s appalling habit of invoking his own dead son, Beau, whenever he finds himself in some kind of pickle. Perhaps he merely confused his good son for Mrs. Walorski.

Either way, the man should not have his finger anywhere near the button. Especially in these grave times when the world is at a nuclear standoff like we have never seen before.

Our enemies are watching. And they are on the move.

It is now an endless loop of Mr. Biden shaking imaginary hands, being directed on how to walk off a stage by his wife or getting whisked away by the Easter Bunny. Mr. Biden is so far out of his mind that recently he accidentally saluted an American flag, causing deep consternation within the Democratic Party.

As ridiculous and painful as all this is for innocent American taxpayers to have to watch, the real question is far more serious and amounts to a clear constitutional crisis.

Mr. Biden is clearly not in charge. He is clearly not making decisions. He clearly does not run the White House.

So we must ask: Who is in charge? Which unelected person is running the country right now? Who is driving this wheelchair?
