Only a handful of colleges around the United States have implemented forced face mask policies for this fall’s return to campus.

But it doesn’t really matter. Most college kids, according to recently collected data, are voluntarily wearing them anyway. Why?

At root: the brainwashing of the past couple of coronavirus years has been successful.

Masks work; face masks work — that was the narrative from the medical bureaucrats for more than two years of COVID-19 clampdowns on liberties. That was the narrative after it wasn’t the narrative, actually.

The left’s go-to god of medical science, Dr. Anthony Fauci, first warned that face masks weren’t necessary. Then he insisted face masks were necessary in cases where it was impossible to social distance at 6 feet. Then he insisted face masks were necessary both indoors and outdoors, in buildings and in public parks — and that was after he insisted that going to parks was dangerous business; better to stay off the streets entirely — and that was after he was seen and photographed sitting outside at a Nationals’ baseball park in the stands without a face mask. But back to Fauci’s warnings: that was after he insisted that if one face mask was good, two were better — it’s only common sense, he said.

You’d think the American people would’ve been weaned off the face masks by now.

With all the ridiculous “science” — which is to say, pseudoscience — about face masking, you’d honestly, truly, genuinely think the American people would be burning face masks like women in the 1960s burned bras.

After all, what’s it mean that face masks “work” anyway?

Certainly they don’t “work” to stop the spread of the coronavirus. Heck, that’s been known for months now.

“New research reveals that cloth masks filter just 10% of exhaled aerosols, with many people not wearing covering that fit their face properly,” researchers from the University of Waterloo, Ontario, found in mid-2021, StudyFinds.org wrote.

And from the World Health Organization, updated December 2021 — this: “[T]he use of a mask alone is not sufficient to provide an adequate level of protection against COVID-19.” WHO goes on to say that if COVID-19 is an issue, then more than face-masking must take place. That is to say, stay away from people; face-mask; ventilate rooms; avoid crowds; wash hands frequently; cough into a tissue — as WHO wrote, “do it all!”

And when wearing a face mask, wear it properly, WHO says — and this is the list of directions to abide by: “Clean your hands before you put your mask on, as well as before and after you take it off, and after you touch it at any time.”

Seriously?

Then this: “Make sure it covers both your nose, mouth and chin. When you take off a mask, store it in a clean plastic bag and every day, either wash it if it’s a fabric mask, or dispose of a medical mask in a trash bin.”

Again — seriously?

That, in a nutshell, is why face masks don’t work.

Humans just don’t behave that way. And thankfully, humans don’t have to behave that way ‘cause God gave us something called natural immunity.

But if two-plus years of coronavirus dictates taught Americans anything, it’s that natural immunity is OK, but vaccines, face masking, staying home and definitely, most definitely, not singing in church are the real ways to keep healthy.

And college kids have bought the B.S.

“Regardless of region, political affiliation or even school rules, the majority of college students say they will voluntarily wear a mask at all times on campus this fall,” Intelligent.com reported this week, citing newly collected data.

Specifically, 63% of college-age kids returning to campus say they’ll mask up — 62% of whom self-identify as Republican and 72% as Democrat.

These are America’s emerging leaders.

And they’ve been brainwashed by bureaucrats to the point of voluntarily complying with government will.

This does not bode well for American liberties.

First the face mask. Then the vaccines. Then the technology-based contact tracing — also known as government surveillance and tracking. It’s for the good of society, dontcha know.

That’s collectivism. That’s the stuff of communist nations. It’s a mindset that flies in the face of God-given individual liberties. And it’s the final wall to crumble this country.

When tomorrow’s leaders have been conditioned to see government as the god, and critical thinking and questioning as the dangers to society, then the Marxist takeover of America will have been complete. Here’s the harsh reality: We’re only a graduating class or two away from that fate.
