President Biden over the weekend sent out a message of congratulations to Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva for beating Brazil’s incumbent president, Jair Bolsonaro, in a widely watched runoff election.

Think about that. Biden congratulated a hard-core socialist who served 19 months in prison on corruption charges — over a conservative who was backed by Donald Trump.

This is how radical America’s Democratic Party has become.

Today’s Democrats hate anything that smells of sovereignty, limited government, conservative principles, and most definitely, MAGA-style populism.

“I look forward to working together to continue the cooperation between our two countries in the months and years ahead,” Biden said of da Silva.

Working together?

There was a time not so long ago when America would find it unthinkable to cooperate with far-left socialists. There was a time not so long ago when far-left socialists were considered enemies of the state, and “working together” with them was something of a foreign policy dance — that is to say, a strategic maneuver to spread Western values and grow seeds of capitalism. It’s doubtful Biden’s vow of “cooperation” with da Silva comes in the same vein as Ronald Reagan’s way of “working together” with Mikhail Gorbachev.

Biden is more apt to tear down Trump’s border wall to benefit socialist da Silva than bring socialist da Silva to the point of renouncing socialism in favor of free markets.

But this is how much Democrats hate Trump. Bolsonaro was dubbed “Trump of the tropics” for his critical thinking on COVID-19 clampdowns — he called COVID a “little flu” — as well as his deforestation of the Amazon to bolster economic development and encourage mining.

“[T]he Amazon is Brazil’s,” Bolsonaro said in 2019, in response to criticisms from European leaders about his plans to use the property for business partnerships.

Those are fighting words to globalists. As Greta Thunberg might say: “How dare you!” Using land for economic development over the objections of radical environmentalists is a no-no in socialist land.

Now fast-forward to this past weekend’s elections, and da Silva brought that point home. He promised to “reconstruct the very soul of this nation.” How very Biden-like of him. Biden and the Democrats are in a “battle for the soul of this nation,” too, as they’ve said many times in recent months.

Yet another sign of “working together,” it seems.

Democrats have gone off the deep end on their political leanings.

The soul of America’s nation, under Democrat control, truly is in peril.
