The advance from steam power to internal-combustion engines did not happen because a group of politicians promoted a better source of power. The A-Model Ford did not advance to the 2022 Cadillac or a similar automobile because a group of politicians promoted automobile advancement.

Politicians like to spout ominous reports, such as Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth,” but that 2006 film should be more accurately retitled “An Inconvenient Untruth.” Why? Its dire predictions failed to happen. According to Mr. Gore, they would all take place by 2013. Yet Earth’s temperature has not increased 1 degree since his doomsday forecast 16 years ago.

Moreover, half the scientific community rejects the premise that humankind and its inventions are the cause of the environmental problem. The other half, with the help of scare-mongering politicians, have cost us taxpayers billions of dollars, which should have been spent to “secure the Blessings of Liberty.”

If political movements were required to achieve an end, our primary source of power in 2022 would probably still be steam. And if there should someday be a crucial environmental problem, innovative profiteers will find a profit-motivated, environmental solution years ahead of the Armageddon-predicting politicians in Congress and the White House.
