Dan Snyder and the Washington Commanders may have 99 problems, but interest from billionaires in purchasing the franchise ain’t one.

According to a report from People Magazine, billionaire Jeff Bezos does indeed have interest in buying the Commanders if Snyder decides to sell the team. But Bezos won’t bid for the franchise alone, as the Amazon founder and Washington Post owner could partner with hip-hop artist Jay-Z.

An unnamed source told People that Bezos, 58, is “looking into” a bid to buy the team that Snyder has owned since 1999. Snyder and his wife, Tanya, announced Wednesday that they are considering “potential transactions” of the team amid multiple investigations into Snyder, Washington’s workplace culture and the team’s finances.

It wouldn’t be the first time that Jay-Z, whose net worth is north of $1 billion, got involved in a sports franchise. He used to own a small share of the Brooklyn Nets before selling the stake in 2013.

Bezos’ interest also isn’t new. NFL insider Jason La Canfora reported for CBS Sports in 2019 that Bezos is interested in becoming an NFL owner and that the league would welcome him with open arms.
