Lionel Messi may be taking his talents to South Beach.
According to Matt Lawton of The Times in England, the superstar forward is close to signing a mega deal with Inter Miami of the MLS after the World Cup ends.
The 35-year-old superstar would join the MLS on a deal that’s expected to be the largest in the American league’s history after the end of the 2022-23 European season.
Messi, currently playing for Argentina in the World Cup, is out of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1 at the end of the season.
And Messi may not be the only global soccer star to come to the MLS. Forward Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract was recently terminated by Manchester United, and multiple MLS teams are reportedly interested in signing the 37-year-old.
To replace Ronaldo, Manchester United is eyeing the best American-born player in Christian Pulisic, according to ESPN. The 24-year-old forward is expected to leave Chelsea for Manchester United during the transfer window in January.
