OPINION:
Rebecca Parson is the name of a woman in Washington who’s running for Congress as a member of the Democratic Party.
She’s also a member of the Democratic Socialists of America. And that makes her ineligible to serve in public office.
At least, it should.
It should be obvious to all of America that she has no business serving in U.S. politics, taking an oath of office that requires protection of the U.S. Constitution. Socialists, in whatever form or derivative they choose to adopt, whether Socialist or democrat-socialist or DSA or some other watered-down label — socialists are automatic liars if they pledge to uphold the Constitution.
Public servants cannot pledge allegiance to the Constitution and to socialism simultaneously. The two cannot coexist. The two are direct opposites.
Socialists are enemies of America’s Constitution, and that makes them enemies of the United States.
It’s simple. At least, it should be. But can you say Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez?
How about Sen. Bernie Sanders?
Far too many socialists masquerading as democratic-socialists, or independents, or Democrats, or progressives and the like have infiltrated America’s political halls in recent years. It’s a black mark on the Constitution. It’s a pox on individual liberties.
Parson, who is running for the 6th Congressional District, proposes as part of her campaign platforms to fight for “universal rent control nationwide”; to fight for a “national grace period of 14 days for payment of rent”; and, among other gems of socialism-slash-communism, to fight for a federal “declaration of housing as a human right” that will, as with health care, lead to government takeover of the housing system and a pure redistribution of money that will allow the have-nots, or more accurately, the do-nothings, to live rent free, mortgage free, accountability free.
It’s not housing, after all, Parson and her socialist friends want declared a human right. It’s tax-paid housing. It’s Peter-paid housing for Paul and his many, many socialist-in-training voting friends.
The more government seems needed, the more members of government can stay in power.
That, in the end, is the end game — and in the minds of socialists, all means justify this end.
“Imagine I proposed a Housing for All bill in Congress,” Parson said, in one of her campaign ads, as reported by The Blaze. “Then imagine you, me and a million of our friends took action and occupied empty houses nationwide. They couldn’t ignore us. No one has ever done anything like this — and that’s why it’s going to work.”
Occupy Wall Street?
Occupy Cherry Street.
The means — theft — justify the ends — free housing. Tax-paid housing. Taxpayer-funded thefts of private homes.
That’s the socialist way.
They have no business being in America’s politics. As a matter of fact, they don’t even really belong in America at all.
