ASHBURN | Washington Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin was not present for Tuesday’s voluntary organized team activities as he looks to secure a new contract.

McLaurin has not participated in any of the team’s on-field work this offseason. The 26-year-old’s contract is set to expire after this upcoming season, and like other players who have tried to gain leverage in contract negotiations, the wide receiver has begun holding out.

A number of star wide receivers have signed massive contracts this offseason with Davante Adams, Tyreek Hill and A.J. Brown all agreeing to deals that average at least $25 million annually. Those contracts came after the trio was each traded to new teams.

So far, Washington has not shown a willingness it would be open to dealing McLaurin. Coach Ron Rivera has said that the team has started contract talks with McLaurin and has expressed a desire to keep the wideout wearing burgundy and gold for a long time.

But with no deal yet in place, McLaurin was not at practice.
