OPINION:
The yawning disconnect between the screeching scribes in the political press and ordinary citizens in America is never more evident than in the aftermath of a horrific human tragedy.
Normal, decent Americans cringe at the raw evil of a sicko shooting up a supermarket in Buffalo, New York. Police officers risk their lives to protect the survivors. Charities spring to help families. Local newspapers honor the dead. Churches pray for the victims.
Whatever evil psychosis that infected the perpetrator of the crime does not infect the minds of regular Americans watching in grief and sorrow.
But in a frenzy of uncontrolled self-adulation, politicians and the political press smell opportunity the way jackals smell carrion wafting above the plains of the Serengeti.
They stalk and twitch like crazed animals, biting at air. They howl and bay at those decent people who offer “thoughts and prayers” to the victims. Their evil eyes glow in the lights as they circle their prey.
No need to dignify the jackals by naming them but they are everywhere. Leading the pack of rabid dogs are formerly mainline publications such as The New York Times and The Washington Post. They poison the air with their toxic rot.
They seize on a tragedy to push partisan political agendas. These agendas are too unpopular to advance in elections so they push them during horrifying tragedies instead.
It used to be that these press vermin exploited these mass catastrophes to push gun control — at a time when many Americans pull their children tight and wish they had a gun. In response to evil madmen murdering people, decent Americans mourn the dead — and they seek to better protect their families, their neighbors and their communities.
They go buy guns and get concealed carry permits.
Politicians and the political press, meanwhile, just push their partisan agenda, vowing to take guns away from decent, law-abiding Americans. Again, they do this because when they try doing it through elections, they get punished at the polls.
But it’s not just gun control. They have an agenda for every tragedy.
Even a pandemic killing millions around the world is merely an opportunity for these vermin to push a partisan agenda to go after political enemies — even if it means overhauling and hijacking a political election.
Their latest agenda is their boldest — and most unhinged — yet.
They blame the shooting in Buffalo in which 10 innocent Americans were murdered on — and, yes, this is truly nuts — their political enemies who disagree with their insane open-borders agenda. That’s right. If you believe our border laws should be enforced then you are a bigot who inspired a crazed lunatic to shoot up a grocery store in Buffalo, New York.
If you are concerned about millions of illegals streaming across our border and believe the federal government should enforce the laws to stop the influx of illegals, then you are to blame.
In full partisan froth, The Washington Post accused a local Republican Rep. Elise Stefanik of personally inspiring the killer.
“Stefanik echoed racist theory allegedly espoused by Buffalo suspect,” they blasted.
Why? Because she refuses to go along with The Washington Post’s open-borders agenda, which makes her racist.
In other words, the whole world is racist and inspired the lunatic gunman because every other country on the planet has borders and enforces laws protecting them — especially Mexico.
The problem for the jackals in the press and the politicians they protect is that their credibility is shattered and their rabid partisan tactics of relentless race-baiting are losing their power.
