At 39 years old, Frank Gore still packs a punch.
But instead of dishing out punishing hits on the gridiron, the former NFL running back is laying out opponents in the boxing ring.
In his professional boxing debut Saturday, Gore knocked out Yaya Olorunsola with a bone-crushing overhand right in the fourth round. The fight took place in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Gore, who last played in the NFL in 2020, is pursuing a boxing career. His first unofficial fight was a four-round loss by decision to former NBA guard Deron Williams in September.
It will be difficult for Gore’s second act to outshine his first. Gore was one of the best running backs of his generation, displaying a powerful running style matched with longevity that is rarely seen at his position.
Gore totaled 16,000 rushing yards — good for third on the NFL’s all-time list — in 16 career seasons with the 49ers, Colts, Dolphins, Bills and Jets. The only NFL backs with more rushing yards than Gore are Emmitt Smith (18,355) and Walter Payton (16,726).
