Juli Boeheim, the wife of longtime Syracuse men’s basketball coach Jim Boeheim — was robbed at gunpoint Tuesday afternoon, according to multiple reports.

The robbery occurred outside the Destiny USA shopping mall just after 2 p.m., the Syracuse Police Department said in a news release. Police said a male “youth” pointed his gun at the victim and reached into the car to grab a purse. Syracuse.com was first to report that Juli Boeheim was the victim. She was not injured in the incident.

Police said the suspect, who hasn’t been identified, then got into a car that had been reported stolen and drove away with two other people.

Jim Boeheim has coached at Syracuse since 1976 and played for the Orange in the 1960s. He and Juli married in 1997 and have three children, including Jimmy and Buddy Boeheim, both of whom currently play for the Orange’s men’s basketball team.
