I wish I could say I was amazed at the pork-barrel pet projects in this latest $1.5 trillion giveaway by Congress, but I am not (“Senate approves $1.5 trillion spending bill with Ukraine aid, earmarks,” Web, March 10). However, I am appalled. Here we are, almost $30 trillion in debt, and our government is going on a spending spree. Some of the foreign-aid giveaways simply boggle the mind.

Where is the fiscal responsibility? How do you give away what you don’t have? Oh, I know, get elected to Congress, that’s how.
