A conservative group with ties to former President Donald Trump filed a lawsuit Wednesday accusing the public school system in Virginia’s Loudoun County of engaging in sexual misconduct toward its students.
America First Legal, led by former White House adviser Stephen Miller and other Trump administration officials, alleged in a court filing that Loudoun County Public Schools, its superintendent and other officials have promoted secret gender transitions, distributed pornography and forced children to change in locker rooms with those of the opposite sex.
Mr. Miller described the case, which is on behalf of 11 school district parents, as a matter of parental rights.
“The extreme social gender experiments being forced onto small children are nothing short of government-directed child abuse and child sexual exploitation,” Mr. Miller said in a statement accompanying the lawsuit.
Wayde Byard, the public information officer for Loudoun County Public Schools, said in a statement that they do not comment on pending litigation.
The claims in the lawsuit echoed concerns expressed by conservative parents across the country that public schools have become increasingly sexualized in nature as school officials bring a “woke” agenda into classrooms.

Loudoun schools have been at the epicenter of recent parent protests against an education agenda that they say promotes far-left views on sexuality and race relations.
Parents confronting school boards in Loudoun County and other communities led U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland last year to direct the FBI to probe parents’ threats against school board members. The order sparked an outcry from conservatives who accused the Biden administration of treating parents like domestic terrorists when they raised legitimate concerns about the education of their children.
In another case that grabbed headlines, the same transgender teenager was found guilty of sexually assaulting girls in two different Loudoun County high schools. After the first alleged incident occurred, district officials reportedly moved the teen to another school within the same district, where the second attack occurred.
Loudoun County was also home to protests against mask mandates and the teaching of critical race theory.
The most recent “unlawful conduct” detailed in the lawsuit, as Mr. Miller described it in a tweet, includes: “secretly ’gender transitioning’ minor children, forcing students to share bathrooms with and locker rooms with the opposite sex against their will, the provision of sexually explicit and pornographic materials, as well as overt racial discrimination.”
He also said that the district financially extorted parents.
