OPINION:
I don’t feel one bit sorry for WNBA star Brittney Griner (“Biden tells Griner’s wife he’s working to get her home,” Web, July 6). After kneeling and protesting the national anthem, Ms. Griner suddenly has a newfound love for her country and would like President Biden to help her to return to the United States. Poor baby.
Ms. Griner was no doubt looking for trouble and should have known better than to bring cannabis oil to Russia. Maybe if she sat in a Russian prison for 10 years, she would show some respect for the American flag and appreciate the anthem.
In any case, let us hope that when Ms. Griner does return home, she will appreciate the fact that she lives in the greatest country in the world and sing “God Bless America.”
