OPINION:
Climate alarmists took over the highways of Maryland in the lead-up to the Fourth of July holiday weekend, blocking all lanes across the inner loop of Interstate 495 and causing traffic disruptions that lasted more than 90 minutes.
It’s beginning. The switch from COVID-19 to radical environmentalism is in the works.
The reason these selfish nut cases were able to successfully stall traffic on one of the nation’s busiest highways is because they believe their time has come — and on that, they could very well be right.
The coronavirus clampdowns were never only about COVID-19. The seizures of Americans’ freedoms were never about saving citizens from a virus that supposedly carried a massive death toll. The roll over of individualism — God-given rights — toward collectivism, where Americans were scolded to do for others what they themselves didn’t believe necessary for themselves, was never a justifiable outcome of government-imposed lockdowns. All this, all these, all those actions were strategic moves toward a bigger picture.
All those actions paved the way for a Great Reset that’s billed on the World Economic Forum’s website as a global order of “social justice, inclusion and sustainable development.”
If COVID opened the door to this new world order, climate alarmism rushes the world into the room.
“Widespread environmental crises and global Black Lives Matters protests have sparked palpable restlessness for change,” WEF reported in October 2020.
“The Sustainable Development Goals need to be setting the agenda, rather than catching up to the moment,” Eddie Ndopu, the United Nation’s secretary general’s sustainable development goals advocate said this same month.
“The pause during lockdown created by the pandemic resulted in a 7% decrease in global emissions in 2020,” GreatReset.com from the World Economic Forum wrote. “The UN states that we need a decrease of 7.6% every year until 2030 to avoid climate and ecological disaster. This means we need to maintain the same decrease every year s if we were living in lockdown.”
See where this headed?
The United Nations, has a 17-bullet point sustainable development plan — which is basically global government, top-down control, one world order meets new world order meets build back better meets great reset, leads to No More America. And in these SDGs are the keys to where the global bureaucrats are next looking for their power grabs. They call it taking care of the world and the world’s environments; it’s really a fast-forward toward tyranny. COVID was great because it a) served as a test on how far the global bureaucrats could push, particularly in America and b) conditioned the people, particularly those in America, to take government orders.
Now it’s time for climate alarmism to take up the reins and run hard.
Again, from GreatReset.com: “The challenge is that as we emerge from the pandemic the pressure to go back to ‘Business As Usual’ will intensify. … Right now we have a small window of opportunity to shape the future we want.”
WEF’s founder and president, Klaus Schwab, wants a Fourth Industrial Revolution to take place that focuses not on profit and production but on public good — on “nourishing greener, smarter and fairer growth,” as Iberdrola wrote.
The time is now — before people get used to getting back their freedoms.
“The pandemic represents an unusual, short term opportunity to reflect, rethink and reboot our world,” Schwab said.
Thus, come the reports linking viruses to the climate.
“How Climate Change Is Contributing to Skyrocketing Rates of Infectious Disease,” ProPublica wrote in May, 2020.
“Climate Change Threatens to Spread More Viruses: Report,” Time wrote in October 2021.
“Climate change increases cross-species viral transmission risk,” the Journal Nature wrote in 2022.
Keep the hype alive; maintain the level of fear from COVID; move the metrics to include the climate — and the “unusual, short term opportunity to reflect, rethink and reboot [the] world,” as Schwab put it, won’t go to waste.
More than a dozen were arrested for blocking off I-495 in Montgomery County, Maryland. But that was just the beginning. Expect more of the same as the months progress.
The useful idiots and leftist tools the government oh so happily took advantage of to push coronavirus clampdowns are looking for new work. They’ve likely found it in the lucrative field of climate alarmism.
