Who let the dogs out?
The Washington Capitals on Monday celebrated “Caps Canine Night” in cute fashion, with the players entering Capital One Arena before their game against Vegas carrying puppies in their arms.
The effort, presented by the Pedigree Foundation, was to help promote pet adoption, and all the dogs the Capitals players carried are available for adoption through Wolf Trap Animal Rescue of Washington, D.C. The organization is the same one that benefited from the team’s 2022 canine calendar.

The team’s Twitter account promoted the adorableness justly, and those in the press box even got their turn to hold the pups during the first intermission.

Despite all the warm feelings, the good boys and girls didn’t help the Capitals on the ice, as the team fell to Vegas 1-0.
The defeat was the first time Washington has been shut out this season. Alex Ovechkin and company fired 34 shots at Golden Knights goalie Robin Lehner but couldn’t find the back of the net.
Michael Amadio’s second-period goal was all Vegas needed for the win. The Capitals had their chances, but were 0-for-5 with the man advantage to continue their power-play woes.
