OPINION:
Georgia’s Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams was just shamed for a social media photo that showed her face mask-less among a sea of face-masked children and her response? Quit being racist.
Welcome to deep Democrat territory, the land called hypocrisy.
If the masks work, why wouldn’t Abrams protect the youngest and most vulnerable by wearing one?
If the masks don’t work, why are some schools — specifically, schools with hefty leftist leadership — forcing children, the segment of society least likely to face adverse health impacts from the coronavirus, to wear the stupid face coverings, anyway?
It’s all about control.
Control and the Democrats’ quest for dominance.
But the quest crumbles on hypocrisy because when the very Democrats who push, push, push for all face masking, all the time, are caught and captured face mask-less, then even those who would support the face masking and even those who would vote for the Democrats are then saying: What the freak?
“Newsom, Under Fire For Going Maskless At Rams Game With Magic Johnson,” screamed one Deadline headline about California’s crazed-with-coronavirus-power Gov. Gavin Newsom — the same crazed-with-coronavirus-power guy who has ordered all in the state to wear face masks, all the time, inside.
“I was very judicious,” Newsom said, when asked why the rules for thee but not for me attitude on face masking.
In other words: Newsom knows best what’s best for his health. But he doesn’t trust that everyone else can make that same determination.
Then there was Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, caught in a photo minus face mask — also with Magic Johnson. His excuse?
“I wore my mask the entire game,” he said. “When people ask for a photograph, I hold my breath. … There is a 0% chance of infection from that.”
He holds his breath.
Just like former President Bill Clinton, he doesn’t inhale.
Abrams takes the cake for excuses, though.
When she’s called out for hypocrisy and elitism for failing to wear the mask, while surrounded by little kids whose faces are forced into the coverings, she said: “It is shameful that our [political] opponents are using a Black History Month reading event for Georgia children as the impetus for a false political attack, and it is pitiful and predictable that our opponents continue to look for opportunities to distract from their failed records when it comes to protecting the public health during the pandemic.”
She threw the race card.
She wants face mask mandates for all Georgians, and when she’s captured on camera without a face mask, inside, reading to the very groups of people she wants stuffed into face masks, she threw the race card.
How do Democrats sleep at night?
Answer: They have no souls.
