OPINION:
Concerned parents across the political spectrum from Loudoun County, Virginia, to San Francisco and everywhere in between are taking back control to protect their children from destructive COVID-19 mandates and the radical anti-American curriculum that’s being taught in public schools. Whether it’s questioning critical race theory at school board meetings or recalling woke school board members, the forgotten men and women across America have had enough.
In the beginning, moms and dads were understanding, patient and willing to trust the edicts put in place by politicians and government bureaucrats about how best to keep their families safe during the pandemic. But over time it became more and more apparent that our children were not at risk of getting seriously ill from COVID-19 and that Democrats like President Biden and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and teachers union bosses like Randi Weingarten were taking advantage of the crisis for their own political gain.
First, the restrictions were used to defeat former President Donald Trump and then to fleece hardworking taxpayers out of billions upon billions of dollars in the name of COVID safety. However, the unwillingness to acknowledge the disaster of virtual learning and isolation, and the insistence that kids continue wearing masks in the classroom during long school days was the last straw. History has taught us that tyrants, once given the power, never want to give it back. The example of the draconian COVID-19 restrictions in America is no exception.
Now, as we enter the third year of the pandemic, our worst fears have come true.
These mandates, made in the name of a vindictive brand of science that couldn’t be questioned, we now know did little to keep kids safe. With just eight months to go until the midterm elections and the Democrats facing an epic wipeout across the board at all levels of government, the left is now moving at warp speed to lift any and all COVID-19 restrictions.
When Democrats had to choose between clinging to power or following the science, power won out decisively. The American people see this for what it is and are rightly angry. And right on cue, the biased corporate media — so dishonest and so utterly corrupted — refuse to report one of the biggest stories of the decade.
The mainstream media has always tilted to the left, but in the age of Trump Derangement Syndrome, it’s now broken beyond repair. In fact, we’d be fortunate if COVID-19 lockdowns were the only story they were refusing to dig into. Look no further than the biased liberal media’s continued cover-up of the origins of the Russia collusion hoax. In any other time in American history, Special Counsel John Durham’s recent court filing would be an explosive story worthy of wall-to-wall reporting and a deep dive by investigative journalists.
In his fact-based filing to the court, Mr. Durham laid out the evidence he has unearthed of an orchestrated effort by Hillary Clinton-backed political enemies of Mr. Trump to spy on him both in Trump Tower and more unbelievably at the White House. What’s now coming into focus more than five years later is that the entire Trump-Russia narrative was a completely fabricated political hit job that was gleefully perpetuated for years by a willing accomplice — the mainstream media. And rather than come clean, liberal media elites cling to the phony Pulitzers they won for a story that never actually happened.
Now, the anti-Trump corporate media is only covering the left’s attempts to discredit Mr. Durham and diminish the obvious importance of what he’s discovering, not the strong case he is building. Sadly, Mr. Durham’s investigation isn’t the only other newsworthy item the liberal media is turning a blind eye to.
The story of Biden family corruption — namely Hunter Biden’s international business dealings — is a juicy enough topic for a page-turning novel at this point, but the dishonest mainstream media is flat out ignoring it to protect their man in the Oval Office. We should never forget that anti-free speech social media platforms went so far as to ban the Hunter Biden laptop story under the false excuse that it was Russian disinformation. The same goes for the smearing and intimidation of the heroic Freedom Convoy of Canadian truckers in Ottawa. The liberal media is so politicized at this point that they’re now using their powerful perch to act as the last protectors of the destructive government mandates that they’ve defended for so long.
Juxtapose the mainstream media’s treatment of Mr. Durham’s probe and Hunter Biden’s antics with their coverage of the congressional investigation of the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol. The illegitimate Jan. 6 select committee, comprised of seven Democrats, two Republicans in name only and zero actual Republicans, is being protected and enabled by its left-wing allies in the media at all costs because the target is Mr. Trump.
Americans from all walks of life now have their eyes wide open about the agenda of the biased media. In the November midterms, their abhorrent willingness to drop impartiality in the name of protecting their liberal political ideology is going to backfire spectacularly at the ballot box.
