Fewer than 14 months ago we had a U.S. president who would have kicked Russian leader Vladimir Putin’s behind. Now we are in a mess on so many fronts that not even a newspaper editorial has space to list all of them. What’s more, many of the messes President Biden has created since assuming the presidency on Jan. 20, 2021, may be impeachable offenses.

It is not clear that the West is unified enough or strong enough to repel Putin’s conquest of Ukraine. Nevertheless, in tonight’s State of the Union, Mr. Biden is likely to boast, posture and declare himself tough on Putin and Russia, and exclaim with moral certainty about the great things he’s done for America.

Be assured, however, that instead of booing him from the House floor, every Democrat in the chamber will applaud his bare-faced braggadocio.
