Yes, that body part.
Finland skier Remi Lindholm said Saturday after he finished the men’s cross-country skiing race at the 2022 Winter Olympics that his penis was “frozen.”
“You can guess which body part was a little bit frozen when I finished. … It was one of the worst competitions I’ve been in. It was just about battling through,” he told Finnish media.
What makes it even stranger, is Lindholm probably wasn’t the only one.
At 3 degrees Fahrenheit with 30 mph wind gusts, the wind chill during the race was negative-21 degrees. In fact, it was so cold that they cut the race from 50km to 30km to decrease the chance of frostbite. Some of the skiers even had “frost beard” after the race, with the white snow covering and freezing on their facial hair.
Oddly enough, it wasn’t the first time this has happened to Lindholm, who said the same thing happened to him in a race in Ruka, Finland, last year.
Lindholm didn’t learn that his delicate area was frozen until after he started to warm up, adding that “the pain was unbearable.”
