OPINION:
More than half of Americans who vote Democrat say Joe Biden should not run for a second presidential term.
Cue Sally Field, with a twist: They hate me — they really hate me.
A new poll, from CNN no less, found only 45% of Democrats and those who tend to vote Democrat, or lean Democrat, would like to see Biden seek a second White House term.
Fifty-one percent say no, Joe, please, no.
The survey was conducted beginning Jan. 10 and running through Feb. 6, before the latest inflation numbers could really sink in — before Americans shopped for their Super Bowl snacks and found, hey, we can’t afford both chips and dip, only chips or dip.
By comparison, surveyors found that 76% of party peeps polled in mid-March of 2010 wanted to reelect Barack Obama, and 55% wanted the same for Bill Clinton in Nov. 9 through 10 of 1994.
A more thorough look at Biden goes like this: 31% of Democratic-leaning and solid Democrat registered voters outright don’t want him reelected; 35% don’t think he can win against the GOP; and 34% have another reason for hating on him. Such as? Such as 19% think he’s too old.
Biden will be 82 years old in November 2024 — but in cognitive ability years, he’s more like 560 years old. That is to say, Biden’s brain addled now. In another two years, he’ll be nearing brain dead.
Democrats have been whispering about a return of Hillary Clinton. She’ll be 77.
But she’s just as hated. Democrats’ cups’ runneth dry.
