No, Tom Brady wasn’t off filming for “The Masked Singer” during his 11-day hiatus.
Or maybe that’s what he wants you to think.
The 45-year-old quarterback jokingly responded to the conspiracy theory — that his confounding absence from training camp was due to a filming commitment he had with the Fox television show — on Twitter Monday night.
“Wasn’t on the masked singer last week. Was wearing a mask though,” Brady posted along with a video of a masked man riding a motorcycle while wearing underwear from Brady’s clothing brand.

The joke, like every other from Brady on Twitter, went viral. It’s clear that while Brady was away for 11 days “to deal with personal things,” per Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles, that he still had his finger on the pulse.
Brady may not have been filming for “The Masked Singer,” but a report from Monday revealed that he may have been doing something more relaxing with his family and wife Gisele Bündchen. Aaron Wilson of Pro Football Network reported that Brady’s break, which was approved by Tampa Bay, included a vacation to the Bahamas at an exclusive resort.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion returned to practice Monday. His 23rd NFL season will kick off Sept. 11 against the Cowboys on “Sunday Night Football.”
But true believers will be tuning into Fox on Wednesday, Sept. 21, for the season premiere of “The Masked Singer” in hopes that Brady will actually be wearing a funny costume and singing a karaoke song.
