Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson was suspended one game and fined an undisclosed amount after he flipped off a heckler during Wednesday’s game against Cleveland, MLB announced Friday.

Anderson remains eligible to play while he appeals the ban — he went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts against the Twins Friday.

The 28-year-old made three errors in the first two innings of Wednesday’s game, then gave a fan the middle finger from his shortstop position.

Anderson made another error — his league-high sixth of the young season — in Friday’s loss.

Anderson missed the team’s first two regular season games after being suspended for bumping an umpire in September.

He hit .309 with 17 home runs, and 61 RBI and made his first all-star appearance last season.
