This Blue Jays fan may not be welcome back to the Rogers Centre for quite some time, but that shouldn’t be her biggest worry.
According to CTV News, a 27-year-old Toronto woman was arrested after punching a police officer during Toronto’s opening day game last week. Police said over the weekend that the woman had been arrested and charged with assaulting an officer and public intoxication.
CTV News reported that a woman and man got into a fight with other fans, causing security to ask them to leave the game. The altercation continued, and video from the nosebleed seats that was shared on social media shows the woman punching an officer and then being handcuffed by police.

“This behavior is unacceptable,” Const. Edward Parks told CBC News on Saturday.
The man involved in the incident left the stadium without further provocation, and Parks told CBC News on Saturday that he is not facing charges.
The game was Toronto’s first home opener with fans since 2019. COVID-19 rules in Canada caused the team to play the entire 2020 season and some of the 2021 campaign in Dunedin, Florida, and Buffalo, New York.
