Hawk Newsome, a co-founder and the chairman of Black Lives Matter of Greater New York, called coronavirus vaccine mandates “racist” and vowed a series of street protests and “uprisings” if the government continued to bar those who couldn’t prove inoculation from entering bars, restaurants, places of entertainment and other public facilities.

Finally. The Black Lives Matter movement — largely based in Marxism, largely known for thuggish protests, largely dismissed as a tool of the left — is finally proving useful.

On vaccine mandates, perhaps BLM can get done by throwing the race card what liberty-loving, patriotic-minded constitutionally informed free American citizens couldn’t.

Newsome told The Washington Examiner that “in a perfect world,” vaccine requirements would be applied in a “business-by-business,” or case-by-case, manner. But it’s not a perfect world, he said.

“[I]t could be a slippery slope,” he said. “So the mandate should be removed completely.”

Agreed.

Maybe not for the same reasons — but agreed.

New York has implemented a “Key to NYC Pass,” which is basically a card that gives the holder the right to enter all the things in America that you’re already supposed to be able to enter. The government calls it safety and security. The government bills it as best medical and health practices. But that’s all bogus. What’s really going on in a crackdown on individual liberty and a turning of American exceptionalism from one that’s rooted in God-given — as in God-given individual rights — to government-granted. Government-granted — as in you only get what the government wants you to have.

Founding Fathers would gasp.

In America, the rightful role, after all, of government is public servant. The people are the boss. The Constitution is the guide. And truly, really, is you truly and really want to get deep into American history and the source of U.S. exceptionalism and freedom — the Bible is the general compass.

But this coronavirus has flipped all that’s right for all that’s wrong. Now, the government’s in charge and the citizens only have those liberties the government deems necessary and proper. It’s a dictatorial atmosphere out there, all right.

So here comes BLM with the race card. And honestly: Good!

Enemy of my enemy is my friend, as they say. At least, for the time being.

“It’s not going to be White men in suits on Wall Street who are going to be stopped [from entering facilities without a vaccine]. There’s such hypocrisy in this thing,” Newsome said.

No vaccine mandates, he said.

No vaccine mandates — anywhere in America.

“We’re putting this city [New York] on notice that your mandate will not be another racist social distance practice,” said fellow BLMGNY co-founder Chivona Newsome, Breitbart reported. “Black people are not going to stand by, or you will see another uprising. And that is not a threat. That is a promise.”

Go, Black Lives Matter.

On this, BLM’s fight is all of liberty-loving America’s fight, as well.
