DENVER — The Washington Football Team ruled out guard Brandon Scherff and cornerback William Jackson III for Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos as the two were part of the team’s seven inactives before kickoff.

Coach Ron Rivera said Friday that Scherff was “very, very close” to returning from an MCL injury, but instead, the All-Pro will miss his fourth straight contest.

Jackson, meanwhile, is out for a second straight week as he’s been dealing with a knee injury. He was considered a game-time decision, though was ultimately kept on the sideline.

The soonest that Scherff and Jackson could now return is Nov. 14, as Washington has its bye next week.

Besides those two, here’s who else is out for Washington:
- Wide receiver Dyami Brown (knee).
- Wide receiver Curtis Samuel (groin).
- Tackle Sam Cosmi (ankle).
- Tackle Cornelius Lucas (illness).
- Tight end Jace Sternberger.

With Lucas and Cosmi out, Washington will likely start 2020 fourth-rounder Saahdiq Charles at right tackle. Despite the absences up front, Washington won’t have to face Denver’s top pass rusher as linebacker Von Miller is out with an ankle injury.
