Earlier this month, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers caused a stir online when he had glowing words for the Pittsburgh Steelers organization — spurring speculation that he could be angling for his next move.
Following the comments, sportsbooks updated their odds for what team Rodgers would open the 2022 season playing for, with the Steelers in the lead at +200.
Now, though, oddsmakers are laying odds on another looming Rodgers’ decision — who the star signal-caller will dress up as for Halloween.
After Rodgers opened the new NFL season with long hair, he said during his weekly appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” that his new hairstyle “has been a year in the making for my costume.”
With Halloween approaching, sportsbetting.ag on Tuesday released odds for the costume Rodgers will don for the holiday. “The Dude” from the movie “The Big Lebowski” is the favorite with 4-1 odds.
Obi-Wan Kenobi from “Star Wars” and Batman nemesis The Joker are tied for second at 5-1. Kurt Cobain, the late musician from the band Nirvana, and pro wrestler The Undertaker both come in at 8-1 odds.
Other notable names include former Olympic champion Caitlyn Jenner (10-1), Jesus Christ (33-1) and “Pirates of the Caribbean” character Jack Sparrow (40-1).
During the Sept. 21 interview, Rodgers hinted that the costume pays homage to “somebody who is a hero of mine, who has long-ish hair.” In August, Rodgers told McAfee that his “hair heroes” growing up were Chuck Norris and Steven Seagal, but added that actor Keanu Reeves “has always been a personal hero of mine whatever he’s doing.”
Last year on the same show, Rodgers said his best ever Halloween costume was about 15 years ago when he and a friend dressed up as the main characters from the movie “Dumb and Dumber.”
Two former teammates are on the potential costume list — former Packers linebackers A.J. Hawk (12-1) and Clay Matthews (33-1). Hawk is also a co-host on McAfee’s daily YouTube show.
Coming in at 50-1 is late “Jeopardy!’ host Alex Trebek. Rodgers hosted the game show for a brief time this past spring and was rumored as a candidate to be one of its regular hosts before not being chosen.
Other candidates listed include Joe Exotic (12-1) from the Netflix documentary “Tiger King,” Axl Rose (16-1) from Guns N’ Roses and movie character Joe Dirt (25-1).
