CNN media critic Brian Stelter repeatedly blasted the former Trump administration for using conservative-leaning Fox News as its personnel pipeline into the White House

Perhaps he should take a look inward.

The Biden administration announced Susan Hennessey, a CNN analyst and Russiagate hoax peddler, would be joining its national security division at the Department of Justice.

Ms. Hennessey is just the latest CNN staffer to be brought in by the Biden administration. Secretary of State Antony Blinken worked as a global affairs analyst for CNN and White House press secretary Jen Psaki was a political commentator at the cable news network before she joined the Biden administration.

CNN staffers including Jim Sciutto, David Axelrod, Van Jones, and Laura Jarrett, the daughter of former President Obama’s adviser Valerie Jarrett, all previously worked in or had close affiliation to the Obama White House.

During the Trump administration, Mr. Stelter obsessed about how Fox News had become a propaganda organ for the former president, and how its cheerleading of him and his agenda was decaying our democracy. He even wrote a book titled, “Hoax: Donald Trump, Fox News and the Dangerous Distortion of Truth.”

So what says he to the Biden administration heavily leaning on CNN personalities? Crickets. No feedback loop to be concerned about there.

Ms. Hennessy is a troubling hire for the Biden administration simply because she did everything in her effort to perpetuate the Russia-collusion hoax during the Trump administration while serving at CNN.

She promoted the debunked Steele dossier, used an anonymously sourced article to assert a “concrete allegation of Trump team collusion,” and denied there was any wrongdoing by DOJ officials using the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act to get warrants to surveil Trump campaign officials. When an inspector general report was released showing otherwise, she ignored it.

Ms. Hennessy hosted a podcast dedicated to then-special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into Russiagate and asked her Twitter followers what they were doing to “ensure” former President Trump was defeated in 2020.

Now she’s set to join President Biden’s Department of Justice. Her most incriminating, partisan tweets from the last four years were conveniently deleted over the weekend.

CNN, for its part, helped fill Ms. Hennessy’s void by hiring Natasha Bertrand as their White House national security reporter. Ms. Bertrand, like Ms. Hennessy, also propagated the Russian-hoax narrative, leaning heavily on the Steele dossier to spew rumors and innuendos about the former president. Instead of being demoted for her false reports and allegations, CNN rewarded her with a promotion.

Instead of focusing so much on Fox News’ alleged “conspiracy theories and fear mongering,” CNN should look inward. It promotes and hires folks who will continue to push its narrative: Orange man bad, Biden good. It’s not news, it’s propaganda for the left.
