ST. ALBANS, Vt. (AP) - Crews from Vermont and Quebec are continuing to search for a Canadian man last seen kite-surfing on Lake Champlain on Wednesday afternoon, Vermont State Police said Friday.

Quebec Provincial Police requested the help of Vermont State Police on Thursday afternoon, authorities said. The search resumed Friday.

Pierre Dunningan, 62, of Bromont, Quebec, was last seen at about 4 p.m. Wednesday kite surfing in Missisquoi Bay, state police said. A witness reported seeing him near the mouth of the Missisquoi River, on the Vermont side of the border, police said. He was reportedly not wearing a wet suit or a life jacket.

A helicopter and divers were used in the searches in Canada, state police said. Vermont State Police troopers have checked the shoreline area and deployed a drone while the Vermont National Guard supplied a helicopter and local rescue crews used boats, police said.
