Say goodbye to Roger Goodell’s basement.
The NFL announced Monday it will host an in-person event for this year’s draft after conducting the event remotely in 2020 due to the pandemic. In a press release, the league said it plans to host fans, draft prospects and media when the three-day draft takes place April 29 to May 1 in Cleveland, Ohio.
Last year, the NFL conducted the draft remotely with coaches, executives, players and Commissioner Roger Goodell allowing cameras into their own homes. Goodell announced picks from his basement.
According to the league, fans attending the draft must wear a mask and adhere to social distancing. There will also be a group of fans who will be selected as “draft ambassadors” that will get to sit closer to the action. Those who are selected must be fully vaccinated, the league said.
The three-day event will be televised by ESPN, ABC and the NFL Network.
