Bill Maher, host of “Real Time,” ripped into the “Stalinesque” cancel culture and woke “brats” of the media, going so far as to tell his Democratic guest, former North Dakota Sen. Heidi Heitkamp, who tried to blame Republicans, that she was largely wrong — that the cancel culture was more a thing of the left.

No doubt, Maher is now the left’s next target.

You can’t criticize socialists-democrats-progressives-cultural Marxists these days without, soon enough, becoming their target.

In the meantime, Maher makes magnificent points.

“I swear to God,” he said on his recent show, as The Blaze reported, “I don’t want to talk about cancel culture and this nonsense every week, but I just think people understand how this is a tsunami and how fast the goalposts change almost on a weekly basis.”

Teen Vogue editor-in-chief Alexi McCammond was just forced to resign from her position because of tweets she wrote when she was 17 years old. Mumford & Sons banjo player Winston Marshall was just targeted by the “woke” snowflakes of the country for giving a thumbs-up to a book written by journalist Andy Ngo called “Unmasked,” about his undercover investigations of Antifa that exposed the group’s Marxist intents.

“[Marshall] tweeted out [to Ngo], ’Finally had the time to read your important book, you’re a brave man,’ to the author,” Maher said. “Now he has to step away — everyone is always ‘stepping away’ — from the band.”

Marshall also issued an “apology” for his tweet, saying, “Over the past few days, I have come to better understand the pain by the book I endorsed.”

On that, Maher said: “What? Did you hit someone over the head with it? … It’s so Stalinesque.”

On today’s new woke culture, Maher said: “I never thought I would live in an era [like] the 50s and the blacklist era when people would whisper that you were — you’re a communist, and all it took was someone informing on you … saying they saw you at a rally or a peace march and you are branded, and your career was over or you were on the blacklist.”

On today’s cancel culture, Maher said: “Can I just say something? People talk sh— in private. We can’t legislate that away. For f—- sake, can we have a little common sense? People talk sh— about each other in private.”

On Heitkamp’s comment that Republicans are to blame for the cancel culture because of the “war on Christmas” messaging of past years, Maher said: “Yeah, they’re snowflakes, too, but they don’t control the media the way these brats do. That’s the problem. I don’t think it was Republicans who got Alexi [pushed from Teen Vogue].”

Great points, all.

The problem is the left doesn’t listen to logic or reason.

The left runs off pure anger and outrage and emotion, fueled by desires for power and control and a near-demonic need to destroy any standards of behavior or moral absolutes.

The left wants a society where nothing controls — meaning, chaos controls — meaning, society is completely crumbled. They define that as freedom. It’s actually enslaving. It’s a world without God, run by their own ever-changing whims.

And very likely, very soon, their next whim will be to cancel Maher.
