President Biden is facing a crisis situation at the border, with a reported 13,000 — and growing — number of unaccompanied minors in federal custody, right along the Rio Grande.

And he could stop it. But he won’t. He won’t even agree that 13,000 unaccompanied children at the border is a crisis.

During his campaign for the White House, Biden talked up how “we owe” illegals amnesty; how “building a wall will do little to deter criminals and cartels seeking to exploit our borders”; how U.S. tax dollars ought to go to the ports, rather than the border with Mexico, because “all the bad stuff is happening” at the ocean gateways to America.

His campaign website was filled with statements such as this: “It is a moral failing and a national shame when a father and his baby daughter drown seeking our shores” — as if America were to blame for the deaths of illegals who choose to put themselves and their children in harm’s way.

Or this: “Trump has waged an unrelenting assault on our values and our history as a nation of immigrants.”

Or this: “As president, Biden will … take urgent action to undo Trump’s damage and reclaim America’s values … welcome immigrants in our communities.”

Or this: “As president, Biden will finish the work of building a fair and humane immigration system — restoring the progress Trump has cruelly undone and taking it further.”

Read between the lines — heck, read the lines themselves — and it’s clear what Biden, before even being elected, had in mind for the borders: open.

Open and unguarded.

Open and unguarded and unregulated by law and order.

Message received; and now “more than 13000 migrant children in U.S. custody,” reported CBS News.

“Record number of children being held at the U.S.-Mexico border,” reported CBS News in a different headline.

“Backlog of migrant children in Border Patrol custody,” reported CBS News in yet another different headline.

Get the picture? Crisis. Now Biden and his band of open-border Democrats and his friends in the Democrat-run press want to pretend that this president, all along, never telecast a message of open borders before the November election, never mind after, and certainly never mind after Inauguration Day. Unbelievably enough, they want to pretend it was the previous law-and-order, border-controlling Trump administration to blame for the surge of minors at America’s border with Mexico.

“North Carolina Congressman Richard Hudson argues reversing Trump border policies has resulted in a crisis for the Biden administration,” Yahoo! News wrote.

Say what?

Then this, from Biden, just this week, when asked on ABC News what he’d like to tell potential border crossers: “I can say quite clearly. Don’t come. We’re in process of getting set up, don’t leave your town or city or community.”

How nice.

How twelfth hour desperation nice.

Joe Biden may have realized he does not want a southwest border crisis in his administration, but the damage he created with his campaign promises is already done,” the Heritage Foundation wrote. “It’s too late. The alien smugglers have already cashed their checks.”

The children are on their way.

The sex traffickers and drug lords and scum of society are raking their profits off the backs and bodies of young innocents.

Now Biden wants to tell them all to stay home?

The only way Biden can stop the crisis is to first, treat it as a crisis — and quit putting his political hide as the priority. Second, drum up the law-and-order presence at the border. Third, make a few widely reported arrests of illegals already on U.S. soil. Fourth, talk up the benefits of a border wall, and build, build, build. And fifth, send them back — send those who arrive here illegally back to where they came from, back to where they belong.

In other words: Act like Trump.

Which is to say: Biden won’t. America is stuck. The solution is November 2022.
