LeBron James has owned plenty of NBA teams while playing on the court, but now he’s an owner in a different sense, this time with the Boston Red Sox.

According to a report from The Boston Globe, the basketball star now owns an undisclosed amount of Fenway Sport Group, the parent company that owns Liverpool of the English Premier League and MLB’s Red Sox.

James had held about a 2% share in Liverpool since 2011. But becoming a partner in Fenway Sports Group makes him a part-owner of the rest of the group’s subsidiaries, including the Red Sox, cable network NESN and Roush Fenway Racing.

James is joined by his business partner Maverick Carter in the move, as well as RedBird Capital Partners — the latter an investment group funneling a $750 million private investment into Fenway Sports Group. The Globe reports the deal is contingent on MLB’s approval.
