Caris LeVert made his return to the court Saturday, two months after undergoing surgery to remove a cancerous mass on his left kidney. The guard made his debut for the Indiana Pacers, scoring 13 points and adding six rebounds in 27 minutes during the win against the Phoenix Suns.

LeVert last played Jan. 12, then a member of the Brooklyn Nets. But a four-team trade that sent James Harden to Brooklyn and dealt LeVert to Indiana unearthed the cancerous mass during a team-required physical.

He underwent surgery Jan. 26, and the team announced he wouldn’t need any additional cancer treatment. LeVert admitted he had “heavy legs” while playing, but was thankful to be back on the court at all.

“A month and a half ago, two months ago, I didn’t even know if I knew I was even gonna be out here, especially this soon, just with everything that happened,” LeVert said (via ESPN). “So it’s definitely a level of gratefulness and just happy to be on the court.”
