DETROIT (AP) - A 25-year-old man has been charged in the fatal shooting of an Uber driver in Detroit.

Carlous Skipper Jr. was expected to be arraigned Thursday in Detroit’s 36th District Court on first-degree murder and using a firearm during a felony charges, according to the Wayne County prosecutor’s office.

Yousef Al-Gabri, 43, was found about 2:30 a.m. on Jan. 14 inside an SUV that had struck the front porch of a home in northwest Detroit. Al-Gabri was shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Skipper was arrested Tuesday. Court records did not list an attorney for Skipper.

A 16-year-old boy and 15-year-old girl were charged as adults in January in the robbery and fatal stabbing of another Uber driver in Detroit.

Police found Timothy Perkins, 60, of Southfield, in a southwest Detroit alley on Jan. 21. He was beaten with a hammer and suffered multiple stab wounds to his body. He later died at a hospital.

Perkins’ stolen car later was found. The prosecutor’s office has said investigators believe a call was put in for an Uber with the purpose of robbing the driver.
