OPINION:
Joe Biden has been in office for just five months and the backlash is already taking shape.
America’s forgotten men and women are waking up again. What began more than a decade ago with the Obamacare debacle, the bailouts and the Obama-Biden world apology tour was a big part of what paved the way for the election of political outsider Donald Trump in 2016. Now in 2021, to quote the late great Yogi Berra, it’s deja vu all over again.
Former President Trump’s rally in Ohio could not come at a better time to put a fine point on the disaster that’s been taking place under the failed leadership of President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. The policies being enacted by the radical left are doing significant damage to the post-COVID-19 economic bounce back that Mr. Trump had in place.
A recent CNBC headline, “Key inflation indicator posts biggest year-over-year gain in nearly three decades,” sounds more like Jimmy Carter’s malaise than a robust recovery. And a recent survey shows that Mr. Biden’s agenda of multi-trillion dollar spending programs with extended unemployment benefits on steroids has fallen flat with voters.
The New York Times reported that “Republican arguments seem to be resonating with the public. Just over half of Americans — 52 percent — want the extra benefits to end immediately … Only 16 percent want the additional benefits to continue indefinitely.” Americans are rejecting socialism — soundly.
The feeling that liberal Washington politicians don’t prioritize American interests with their policy decisions is what inspired Donald Trump to start seriously thinking about running for president in the first place. Then, during the Obama-Biden second term, we saw the open borders mindset take hold, the continued rise of an unchecked China at the expense of American workers, the mislabeling of ISIS as the “JV team,” and the disastrous Iranian nuclear deal. These irresponsible policies helped form the rationale for Mr. Trump’s amazingly successful America First agenda.
Now, it’s become abundantly clear that the arrogant left has learned absolutely nothing from the policy miscues of the Obama-Biden administration, nor have they acknowledged any of Mr. Trump’s many policy achievements. Instead, today’s unhinged Democratic Party is doubling down and expanding on their dangerous America Last agenda because it’s a means to achieve their ultimate goal: an unrecognizable socialist post-American state.
Ignoring the will of the American people is never a good gamble. Donald Trump was able to observe the warning signs under Mr. Obama and Mr. Biden — the feelings of so many that the country they love was slipping away — because he wasn’t an out of touch Washington politician detached from reality. Then and now Mr. Trump is on the ground listening to the concerns of real people.
Mr. Trump was able to crush the narrative that national leaders aren’t concerned with making the livelihoods of the American people better during his term in office. Most unfortunately, that feeling has now come storming back and Joe Biden’s policies are the reason why.
The border crisis that Mr. Biden created will be a driving force behind the return of Donald Trump’s policies to the Oval Office — whether he decides to run again or not. The incompetence that Mr. Biden and Ms. Harris have displayed in gutting Mr. Trump’s successful immigration policy — just to invite chaos to our nation’s southern border — is both politically tone deaf and dangerous.
Mr. Biden’s inability to get tough on China and his failure to hold Beijing accountable for COVID-19 is reminiscent of Barack Obama’s posture toward the CCP. Donald Trump sang a different tune about China from the get-go and he was right. When virtually no one in the corridors of power in Washington wanted to give Beijing a belly full for their bad behavior, Donald Trump stepped up and changed the debate.
Now, the American people are demanding answers from China and Joe Biden is unwilling to rally the world to get the truth. What would Mr. Trump be doing now if he were still calling the shots? We already know. He’d be telling China to pony up $10 trillion dollars in reparations for what they thrust upon the world. That’s a policy the forgotten men and women in America can rally around.
The left’s dishonesty surrounding the voting reform debate that’s raging in our country will also fuel support for a potential Trumpian candidate in 2024. Mr. Biden recently repeated the left-wing lie that “we’re seeing a coordinated attack on voting rights in this country. It’s Jim Crow in the 21st century, and it must end.”
This is patently false; not to mention divisive, dangerous and insulting to minorities. Voter turnout in 2020 set records and it’s never been easier to vote in America. The truth is that Americans support election integrity and ballot safeguards by wide margins. The issue of making voter ID the law of the land is perfect for the second coming of the America First agenda because more than 75 percent of the American people support it.
Another alarming issue on the rise today is the corrosive curriculum that’s poisoning our children in public schools — otherwise known as critical race theory. Part of the socialist’s grand scheme is to teach our kids to hate their country because they wrongly believe it’s inherently racist. This is completely untrue, disgusting and it needs to be outlawed — but Joe Biden is incapable of stopping it.
One person who would stop it is Donald Trump and he would also make school choice a reality in the process. Our children must be taught the truth; while always striving to be a more perfect union, America is the greatest country in the history of the world.
The American people didn’t sign up for radical socialism in 2020 and hate being ignored and dictated to by liberals in Washington — and always have. Looks like the forgotten men and women will have to send another message at the polls and Mr. Trump’s America First agenda will provide the rallying cry for taking back the House and Senate in 2022 and the White House in 2024.
