OPINION:
It is necessary to find out why Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar remains a member of the House (“Omar’s rhetoric on Israel causes rift in party, Page 1, June 11).
Our expectations are that members are there to represent all of us. What service does a hateful, anti-Jewish Islamist such as Ms. Omar provide? If you need to define a racist, there she is, front and center (and frequently).
Ms. Omar’s views and opinions do not represent anything “U.S. of A.” So if she isn’t representing Mr. And Mrs. American, whom and what does she represent in the U.S. House of Representatives?
Our values give a pass to isolated mistakes or statements, but at some point you have to identify an imbecile as an imebecile. You can’t fix stupid and there’s no place for it in legislature.
