OPINION:
Anthony Fauci, from his perch on MSNBC, told the unvaccinated American public to “get over this political statement,” get on board the vaccine wagon and for the good of the country, get the shot.
He is everything that’s wrong in America.
He is: “I’m from the government and I’m here to help. And you better listen because I know best.”
America meanwhile is: “My rights come from God, not government. And government works for me, not the other way around.”
So telling the American people they have a right to decide whether or not to take a vaccine, while simultaneously suggesting or outright saying that those who don’t are selfish, unpatriotic, and worse, putting the nation in danger are not the ways to persuade the reluctant to get the shot. After all, this vaccine is largely experimental; the pro-government types have lobbied hard to get the American public to forget that.
Reuters, in an April fact check, for example, wrote: “CLAIM 1 — ‘All vaccines are considered experimental.’ … This is not true — they have all been put through standard safety testing before being rolled out to the public.”
In this same Fact Check article, Reuters also corrected one of its own stated so-called facts by writing this: “Correction, April 30, 2021: An earlier version of this check described the Pfizer/BioNtech, Moderna and J&J vaccines as being approved for use in the United States. This has been corrected to say these vaccines have been authorized for emergency use by the FDA.”
That’s kind of a hoot when you think about it. In the same fact check, Reuters both acknowledged its error in reporting these vaccines as approved for use — specifically, admitting they’re only authorized under the government’s emergency use clause — and then changed up the definition of the word “experimental” so as to hide the fact these vaccines are indeed, yet to be fully approved.
Meaning: they still need more testing to prove long-term efficacy and safety.
Meaning: they’re experimental.
Just don’t call it experimental, though. Experimental has such a nasty connotation; the word brings images of mad scientists in labs using humans as guinea pigs.
And using American citizens as guinea pigs is very impolite. Dontcha know.
This is where the rollout of the shot has halted: there are plenty in America who think they’d like to wait, thank you very much, and see what happens to the human guinea pigs who lined up first for the shot. Already, young males have suffered heart inflammation, due directly to the shot, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Already, others have reported blood clots and other health ailments, due either directly or indirectly — the uncertainty itself is a red flag — to the shot, according to the CDC.
Seems concerning.
Seems like parents with young males would be — should be — especially concerned.
Seems like Americans have some valid reasons for holding off the vaccine, waiting a bit more time to pass before getting the vaccine. Or here’s a thought: Maybe some in America don’t want to get the vaccine at all. Ever. For whatever reason.
For whatever private and personal reason that has no business being bandied about by government as an example of a societal problem. Because, after all, this is America.
And in America, Americans most certainly have the right to decide for themselves if the line of thought being advanced by the government is truthful or political — if it’s scientific or self-serving.
“This is not complicated,” Fauci whined. “We’re not asking anybody to make any political statement one way or another. We’re saying, try and save your life. And that of your family and that of the community.”
Thanks, Fauci. But when the government’s opinion is wanted, the people will ask. Until then, the people will decide for themselves.
That’s the American way.
This is not complicated.
