Aaron Rodgers performed well on the golf course, teaming with Bryson DeChambeau in the fourth iteration of “The Match” to beat Phil Mickelson and Tom Brady.

But will the quarterback perform at that level on the football field this season for the Green Bay Packers? That much is still largely unknown, as Rodgers ducked questions regarding his footballing future.

“I don’t know B.A., we’ll see,” Rodgers replied when TNT’s Brian Anderson asked if the Packers would field a quarterback wearing No. 12 against the Chicago Bears. “We’ll see, won’t we?”

Anderson followed up by asking Rodgers if he’d be back playing by Sept. 12, which is Green Bay’s first game of the season.

“What’s that one?” Rodgers asked.

When Anderson clarified that date was the Packers’ season opener against the New Orleans Saints, Rodgers reverted to his original answer, saying: “I don’t know B.A., we’ll see.”

Rodgers and the Packers have been at a standoff all offseason, with the three-time MVP not reporting for mandatory minicamp. The rift first reached the public on the first day of the NFL draft, and while details regarding the exact cause of the schism between quarterback and franchise isn’t clear, Rodgers said in May his displeasure doesn’t revolve around the Packers choosing quarterback Jordan Love in the first round of the 2020 draft.

“It’s just kind of about a philosophy and maybe forgetting that it is about the people that make the thing go,” Rodgers said May 24 on ESPN’s “SportsCenter.” “It’s about character, it’s about culture, it’s about doing things the right way.

“A lot of this was put in motion last year and the wrench was kind of thrown into it when I won MVP and played the way I played last year. So this is just kind of, I think, a spill-out of all that. But look, man, it is about the people and that’s the most important thing.”

On Monday, at a press conference ahead of “The Match,” Rodgers said he’s spent the offseason working “on my mental health.”

Training camp opens in three weeks, and the Packers’ first preseason game follows Aug. 14. As Rodgers said, “we’ll see” if the quarterback attends either of those, or if he’s back at all come the season opener on Sept. 12.
